The PRA's SS 5/25 marks a step change in how insurers must identify and address climate risk.

This session will lay out the regulator's expectations of insurers over the near and longer terms, including what insurers must demonstrate by 3 June 2026.

More specifically, it will cover:

  • The direct, transitional and litigation climate risks that relate to insurers
  • Background and introduction to SS 5/25
  • The key aspects of SS 5/25
    • Reorientation of governance to cater for climate risk
    • Use of climate scenario analysis
    • Dealing with data gaps

  • The immediate priorities
    • What must be achieved by the 3 June deadline
    • What will then happen after 3 June
