Matthew is Commercial Director, UK & Ireland, for climate MGA, Descartes. He leads business development, working closely with brokers and clients to leverage Descartes’ cutting-edge parametric products to protect corporates and cedents against natural catastrophes and the growing prevalence of secondary perils.
Matthew started his career at Willis where he worked for ten years in Alternative Risk Transfer across consulting, reinsurance, structuring, and deal execution. He then worked for three years at Lloyd's Lab startup, OTT Risk.
Matthew has significant experience innovating and trading within the (re)insurance industry, working across ART, embedded insurance, climate, agriculture and micro-insurance.
